At Microsoft Ignite 2023 today, the business revealed that it prepares to combine its different preparation tools like Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Project for the web into what it calls a “unified experience” that will initially be readily available in Microsoft Teams in the spring of 2024, with the web variation introducing later on in 2024. This brand-new experience will pass the name of “Microsoft Planner.”
Jobs by Planner and the To Do app in Microsoft Teams will right away be relabelled to Planner, Microsoft discusses in its statement. Microsoft Project for the web will just be relabelled in the coming months– some rebrandings take longer than others, I think.
Because every Microsoft service now features an AI copilotthere will be a copilot in Planner, too, which will have the ability to assist users prepare things faster and recommend brand-new jobs. A dream for each organizer.
The primary objective here, it appears, is to unite these 3 diverse experiences (to do lists, kanban-style preparation tools and job management for more intricate usage cases) under a single umbrella that can scale from specific job management to full-on job management.
