Bacon and shrimp make a terrific group in this super-easy celebration appetiser.– Taste of Home Test Kitchen
Active ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon each salt, garlic powder and pepper
- 18 raw shrimp (16-20 per pound), peeled and deveined, tails on
- 9 bacon strips, cut in half lengthwise
- Optional: cattle ranch dip and lemon wedges
Instructions
- In a little bowl, integrate sugar, lemon juice, oil and spices. Put 1/4 cup marinade into a big shallow meal; include shrimp. Let stand 15 minutes. Cover and cool staying marinade for basting.
- Preheat broiler. Drain pipes shrimp; dispose of marinade. Wrap each shrimp with a piece of bacon and protect with a toothpick.
- Put on a greased rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 in. from heat till shrimp turn pink, 3-4 minutes on each side, basting often with staying marinade after turning. If wanted, serve with cattle ranch dip and lemon wedges.
