Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez has been one of the best players in baseball for nearly a decade now and the 31-year-old is one of the hottest players in the game entering Wednesday’s action. Ramirez has been top 10 in AL MVP voting in six of the last seven seasons and comes into tonight’s matchup with the Rockies having gone 9-for-23 with four home runs and 12 RBI in the last week. Ramirez is now leading the American League with 56 RBI and he has 16 home runs and an .885 OPS during the 2024 MLB season.
His current hot streak is sure to make him one of the most popular options in the MLB DFS player pool on Wednesday. However, affording superstars like Ramirez in your MLB DFS lineups will require some sacrifices elsewhere. McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday is Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres at $2,900 on FanDuel and $3,800 on DraftKings. The 27-year-old Venezuelan was an All-Star in his first two seasons and after down years in 2020 and 2021, he’s bounced back to become an offensive threat again in the last two seasons.
Torres has slugged 49 home runs with 144 RBI and 23 stolen bases while posting a .782 OPS in the last two years. He’s off to a somewhat sluggish start in 2024, with .631 OPS through his first 56 games but he does enter Wednesday’s action on a five-game hitting streak where he’s posted a .988 OPS.
McClure is stacking him with shortstop Anthony Volpe ($4,500 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel). Volpe is coming off a 20-20 season as a rookie and he’s slashing .285/.356/.434 with six home runs, 23 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 2024.
The former first-round pick just turned 23 last month and he was a consensus top-15 prospect in baseball in 2022 and 2023. Volpe enters Wednesday’s matchup with the Angels on a 20-game hitting streak where he’s posted a .911 OPS and he’s had four multi-hit games in his last six contests.
