A Sign of the Timesa brand-new musical including the tunes of Petula ClarkLesley Gore, Dirty Springfield and other timeless pop hits of the 1960s will have its New York City best Off Broadway at New World Stages this winter season, with sneak peeks beginning February 7, 2024, in advance of an opening night on Thursday, February 22.
A York Theatre Company production, A Sign of the Times functions a book by Lindsey Hope Pearlman based upon an initial story by Richard J. Robin. Directing is Gabriel Barre, with music instructions and orchestrations by Joseph Church and choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter.
Casting will be revealed in coming weeks.
The musical, including such ’60s pop classics as “Downtown,” “Gim me Some Lovin’,” “Rescue Me,” “I Know A Place” and lots more, had its opening night at Goodspeed Musicals’ Norma Terris Theatre in 2016 and played an offered out perform at the Delaware Theatre Company in 2018. A developmental reading with script modifications and Pearlman’s brand-new book was kept in New York in 2015.
