Like the previous Amazon layoffs previously in the year, the business’s latest cuts impact the Crown Channel and Game Growth groups in its video game department.

180 workers in Amazon’s computer game department are being released today, according to After-effects’s Nathan Grayson.
These cuts are stated to impact the Prime Gaming group as part of what the outlet called a “bigger objective of refocusing efforts” around it. The Amazon-backed Twitch channel Crown is stated to be affected by this, as is the Game Growth group.
For Amazon particularly, these layoffs come months after itcut 100 tasks in its video games department back in April. (Cuts which came months after the bigger business laid off 10,000 workers towards completion of 2022.) Like now, those decreases impacted the Crown Channel and Game Growth groups, and Amazon Games’ San Diego studio.
In an internal e-mail sent out to workers, VP Christoph Hermann composed the layoffs were stimulated by “modifications in our organization technique … We’ve listened to our clients and we understand providing totally free video games monthly is what they desire most, so we are fine-tuning our Prime advantage to increase our focus there.”
